How It Works

We’ve always valued teaching kids about the importance of oral health at a young age in an engaging way. Since this year is a little different and we can’t visit many schools in-person, we got a bit creative and created Children’s Dental Academy for both teachers and parents alike!

Whether your kids are at home or in the classroom, our online dental education platform shows children how to take care of their teeth and have fun while they do it!

For Teachers

If you’re a teacher wondering how to incorporate Children’s Dental Academy into your lesson plans, here’s how to get started in just a few easy steps:

STEP 1: Sign Up! Register for Children’s Dental Academy and verify your email address.

STEP 2: Get Started! If you’re teaching your class online, select the grade level you’ll be instructing. Before you begin teaching your class, click through the curriculum to get familiar with what we’ll be covering. Feel free to follow the lesson plans or pick and choose which hands-on activities you want to incorporate into your student’s agenda. You can even download copies of the activities ahead of time to hand out to your class or send the links to the student activities in real-time as you go through the course together. If your students are learning online, they can print off these activities on their home computer to complete.

STEP 3: Let The Fun Begin! If your students are learning virtually, you can share your screen with your students as you go through each lesson on Children’s Dental Academy. If you’d like your students to participate individually rather than doing a screen share, they can each create their own account to complete the activities themselves. When they’re done, you can have a class discussion on what everyone learned. These courses can be completed at whatever pace you like! Next time you log in to Children’s Dental Academy, you’ll be able to see your progress and resume where you left off.

STEP 4: An Award Awaits! Each student who participates in Children’s Dental Academy will receive a free online certificate to showcase their accomplishment! Students can print off their Children’s Dental Academy Champion Certificate when they complete the course.

For Students

Embark on an exciting dental adventure with your classmates! Each grade level’s virtual activities include interactive lessons about the importance of healthy habits, nutrition, proper brushing and flossing techniques, and their first visit to the dentist. You’ll meet many characters along the way and like Andy the Astronaut, Marvin the Mouth Monster, Dental Dino, and more as you travel into outer space, through a dental office, and even into a human mouth! Follow these steps to start your journey.

STEP 1: Sign Up! Your child will need to create an account to get started. If you have a Preschooler or Kindergartener, they may need a bit of help along the way! We recommend that young children follow along with an instructor or a parent. Elementary Schoolers and Adolescents can complete the course activities independently if they choose after they create their own account.

STEP 2: Get Started! Select one of the courses such as Early Elementary or Adolescence that you’d like to begin and carefully follow along with each lesson plan.

STEP 3: Let The Fun Begin! Whether you are learning virtually or in-class, you can download and print copies of the activities to complete with the help of a parent, teacher, or on your own. Be sure to mark each topic ‘complete’ once you are finished to be able to receive the reward at the end of the course. These courses can be completed at whatever pace you like! Next time you login to Children’s Dental Academy, you’ll be able to see your progress and resume where you left off.

STEP 4: An Award Awaits! Each student who participates Children’s Dental Academy will receive a free online certificate to showcase their accomplishment! Students can print off their Children’s Dental Academy Champion Certificate when they complete the course.
